Best WIshes & New York celebrate 400 years friendship with New Netherlands

Greetings Everyone !

We hope everyone had a great holiday. The year 2008 just flew by ,
its unbelievable how much we have achieved and grown each year.
It has been just amazing. We have created lots of press for Dutch bikes, here in New York
but also in other States. Its a pure joy to receive emails and pictures of bike lovers
spread out all over the United States.

This year,2009 is a very special year, we will celebrate the enduring friendship
between the Netherlands and the United States. It marks 400 years that Captain Henry Hudson
departed Amsterdam on a Dutch East India Company ship, the Halve Maen ( Half Moon ).
Hudson, sailed up the New York River that now bears his name. Hudson 's voyage attracted Dutch
traders to the area, leading to the establishment of divers, relatively tolerant settlements;
New Amsterdam and the New Netherland Colony.

We will celebrate this year the free spirit, openness, entrepreneurship
and tolerance of those Dutch - American pioneers, and their continued
relevance today and beyond. If you look closely around here in New York you will
see traces of Dutch every where. We will high light this year all the unique spots

A Black Bike will be collaborating with different artist in the fields of
Arts, Design, Fashion and will create a platform between artist from New York and Amsterdam.

Starting with the month of februari, every month our Creative Director will introduce
one of each collaborations and post news and updates.
This will be a year to remember !

Thank you all again so much for the positive feedback we appreciate
it very much. Its hard reaching out to everyone, but all of you definitely motivate
us to create a better bike community
